At the beginning of my time at Santa Ana College, Mr Gagnier guided me through what classes I needed to take during community college to transfer to a 4-year university. Now I recently graduated from SAC with experience from internships because Mr. Gagnier emphasized looking for internships for experience and applying to as many as I can. The worst they can say is no. Now I'm enrolling in CSULB and Mr. Gagnier has guided me in what I want to do after graduation. What career do I want to pursue with my degree? How do I achieve that goal? I was able to answer those questions quickly with his help. Now I am looking for more internships with Mr. Gagniers to help me gain experience.
Excellent counselor who goes above and beyond to support students. He is always approachable, creating a safe, where anybody feels comfortable sharing their concerns. Their thoughtful, compassionate guidance is different to each student's individual needs whether it's academic advice or personal financial problems . Mr. G is invested in helping students and has helped me in many ways fixing up my college classes and making it a more productive and enjoyable experience. 10/10 would recommend to anybody who needs educational guidance.
I'm currently in rolled in SAC and before I started working with Mr.G I had no idea what to do! I got random classes that I didn't need but when I called out for mr G, I got the help I needed. He was able to help me change my class schedule and get me in the right classes. Now that I know I have his help I know I'm getting the support I need, I know I can get more knowledge on my major. I would really recommend Mr G's service because as the first one in my hispanic family to finished HighSchool and entering college Im getting the help and support I need in my life. As well I like how Mr G takes his time guiding you. I can really see how much he cares about getting your career and goals done!
Before I started working with Mr. Gagnier, my university experience was nothing short of chaotic. I felt overwhelmed, stressed, and barely holding on, struggling just to pass each course. It felt like I was constantly just surviving, with little direction or organization. Working with Mr. Gagnier changed everything. He not only helped me structure my courses more effectively but also introduced me to better study routines, checked my strategies, and introduced tools that were instrumental in my progress. With his guidance, my university life has become so much more manageable and far less stressful. I'm now able to approach my studies with a sense of confidence and clarity that I never had before. Mr. Gagnier has genuinely made a positive impact on my academic journey, and I can't thank him enough for the support and strategies that continue to help me succeed.
This was the best help I've gotten in a while. I was lost and wasn't even sure if I would transfer this year or if the major I worked for was the best for me. I wanted to be a math teacher, and not only did I find a better major from mathematics to economics, but I wasn't sure if I was going to transfer with an A.A., but with the help I got from here, I'm going to transfer to a CSU next fall with an A.A.T. in Economics. I felt lost before, and now I know what I'm working for and have a clear road to take. I'm not so stressed out as I was before because I know I have great support here that will help me when I need it and is willing to work with anything I don't understand. If you don't understand something, just ask and just hang in there if you feel like you're lost. This is the best place to get the help you need and set the best road you need for your wants.
I didn't know what career to really choose so I was having quite a hard time... with your guidance, I was able to choose some options ... and explore all the outcomes of four years of college... If anyone else is stuck... or [don't] know what to pursue I think they should go with you.
I am proud to say that Joshua's encouragement and commitment to helping me develop my skills in STEM—especially critical thinking, problem-solving, and programming—enabled me to successfully complete my Bachelor's degree in Psychology at UCI. Joshua sparked my interest in STEM, which not only led to my completing my degree at UCI but also to my current role as a post-baccalaureate scientist at Stanford. I am now applying for PhD programs in neuroscience.
Very helpful in keeping me on track, and keeps me motivated. We made a well thought out transfer plan with safe-guards/cushioning to transfer on time and not waste unnecessary years. Helps with course work, sending professor sophisticated emails and even helped me to skip a math course into one that i was ready to take. I never knew how bad of a path my high school and college counselors had set me on until now. It's amazing to know how deeply he cares about my future and all the hard work he has put into helping me, such as researching other schools and programs to get me a specific class, or helping me find the right program to get Pharm Tech certified. Not only that, but he catches all the tiny loop holes that most counselors overlook, making sure nothing sets me back from the plan we set up together.
